Stats in Fantasy Football... or Fantasy football in Stats?

School starts in a couple of weeks, and I am in the classroom getting ready.  One thing that I would like to do this year is incorporate Fantasy Football into my Stats class.  I am not all in on making it happen yet, but I am getting there.  I'm thinking about having this run parallel with our class and have a day where we apply the concepts we are learning  to our analysis of our football team. Here are the things that I am thinking about:

(1)  Some students are going to be really into it and will be heavily invested from the beginning, but what about the kids that are not into fantasy football?
(2)  I have some content that I am excited about using with it (Standard Deviation, correlation, Value Above Replacement, z-scores) but do I have enough to justify?
(3)  I do not want the football aspect of it to use up our class time.  I want the statistics part to dominate our time as a class.

What I am excited about though, is that we will have a data set that will continue to grow throughout the unit that we will be able to do analysis of and the students will be invested in it... I hope they will be invested.

I'm looking for any ideas anyone might have on how to make this unit good, rigorous, engaging, and useful for the students.  Share em if you got em.
